My own journey began just like yours, with a backyard, a vision, and a whole lot of heart. I see you holding dreams in one hand and expectations in the other, trying to create something meaningful out of a space not built for weddings. Because a backyard wedding isn’t just about ticking boxes or copying someone else’s story. What you’re building is extraordinary; a celebration rooted in love, woven into a place that matters.
When my oldest daughter said “yes,” we had just two months to plan. We transformed our backyard into a full-service venue for 180 guests, complete with dinner, a mocktail bar, dessert table, a grand new entry, and even a handmade fountain. That labor of love sparked so much more. Since then, I’ve launched a décor rental business, supported hundreds of brides, hosted countless backyard celebrations, and created Vows Under the Stars™—a 4-phase planning method designed just for backyard brides.
Along the way, I’ve been the mom juggling last-minute details, the host making a backyard glow, and the encourager who knows how to calm nerves when the pressure feels heavy. Brides often tell me I feel like their “bonus wedding mom”, a calm, supportive guide who helps them cut through the noise, trust their vision, and find joy in the process.
Today, as a Backyard Wedding Coach, I walk alongside my brides with encouragement and guidance, so their wedding day is not only beautiful, but filled with memories that last.
